How this works

1. Build your list

Click the preset buttons for major franchises, or type in anything you're currently in the middle of. The list saves to your browser automatically so you can come back and add more later.

2. Read the shield

The right panel updates every time you add or remove a title. It shows specific character names, plot terms, and community spaces that are likely to contain spoilers for your entries.

3. Browse carefully

Before you open Reddit, Twitter, or YouTube, glance at your shield. If a trending topic or suggested search matches something on the list, skip it until you're caught up.

Common spoiler mistakes

Searching for a character name

Typing a character's name into Google or YouTube autocomplete can reveal their fate in the search suggestions alone. Use vague terms like "show name episode recap" instead.

Scrolling trending topics

During finale weeks, trending hashtags on social media are almost always spoilers. Mute keywords on Twitter or avoid the trending tab entirely.

Reading review scores

Aggregate review sites sometimes include spoiler warnings in the score summary or pull quotes. Wait until you've finished before checking critical reception.

Asking friends casually

Even a simple "is it good?" can lead to a friend accidentally revealing a twist. Tell people explicitly: "Don't tell me anything, I'm not done yet."

Questions people ask

Does this block spoilers automatically?
No. This is a reference tool. It tells you what to avoid, but you still need to steer clear of those topics yourself. Think of it as a map of danger zones, not a force field.
Where is my data stored?
Everything stays in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server. If you clear your browser data, your list will be gone unless you export it first.
Can I share my blocklist with a friend?
Use the copy button to grab the full blocklist as text, or print it as a PDF. You can also send them a link if your list is saved to the URL.
What if my title isn't in the presets?
Use the custom title input. Type any movie, show, book, or game and it will generate a basic keyword set. You can also add your own custom keywords to any entry after adding it.
How often should I update my list?
Whenever you start something new or finish something you were avoiding. The shield is only useful if it reflects what you haven't seen yet.
